About Lure Collection
Lure began as an idea to capture the alluring qualities of a white flower observed in nature. This blossom, with its delicate texture and structural grace, reflected light in a way that inspired the creation of a light source evoking the soft glow seen in a dark garden.
This simple observation led our studio to develop a proprietary cast-cotton papermaking process that began in 2015 and continues to this day. Our method of making the Lure resulted in a sculptural material that can be meticulously hand-formed and hand-painted to represent naturalistic forms. Still, Lure is and has always been, more than the replication of plant forms; Lure embodies the idea of translation, the motivating force behind the design of all Lure works.
The white flower shifts in scale and becomes magnified; the banana frond begins as a colorful botanical illustration, then “comes to life”; the willowy patterns on trees are deepened and abstracted, as if shaped by wind and sun; a weed tree is observed, its branches and leaves held mid-air like outstretched limbs and fingers in a dance…a poised moment suspended in time.
Since 2015, the Lure collection has evolved from a single white blossom into a series of botanical chandeliers, pendants, and wall lamps. These include the Nana Lure, Lure Radiata, and Lure Lanterns, among other variations. Lure works have been featured in museum exhibitions and have been acquired for private art collections around the world.
About Black-Violet Lure Chandelier
The Black-Violet flowers represent the deep beauty inherent in the darkest of flowers. A fitting match made with the velvety texture of our cast-cotton petals.
The Lure Chandelier is crafted with cast-cotton flowers and buds, each formed and assembled by hand in the Pelle studio. Each sculptural blossom—including the petals, carpels, and painted details—is uniquely made, and no two elements are ever exactly alike. The cotton fibers used are archival in quality, exceptionally durable, and historically known to last for over one hundred years.
