“What shapes the chair is revealed by the process. There is a tension between the individual wood timber and the reading of a monolithic form. A white transparent film drapes over the wood, filling the cracks and spaces between the parts. Transitions and angles are smoothed over and blended as if carved from a whole. The wood timbers are manipulated, multiplied, subtracted, angled, and reassembled with the formal logic they and the tool provide.”
