AD celebrated the AD100 list in February with an exhibition and dinner in Vienna at the Vienna Secession. Parisian stylist Sarah de Beaumont’s curation demonstrated the ubiquity of the design principles of Viennese Modernism by combining Josef Hoffmann designs with contemporary pieces, including Pelle’s Quadrat Armchair. Photos were featured in the AD Germany May issue.
One Night Only
True to the motto “To each age its art, to art its freedom,” the Vienna Secession has always been a stage and institution for masterpieces of every creative discipline. For one evening in February, this was the perfect venue for a parade of Vienna’s biggest names, curated by AD – and peppered with objects by the AD 100 designers.
The Workroom
Whether in Bavaria or Vienna, the “Bavarois” wooden table from hauvette-madani.com is perfect for concentrated work. The “Square” armchair from pelledesigns.com provides the perfect cubic complement. The “Yantra” rug in light blue from jan-kath.com Above everything hovers a lustful palm tree from 1914, designed by Josef Hoffmann from woka.com.
