Light-Fixture Assembly Associate, Full-time



PELLE is seeking a Full-Time Light-Fixture Assembly Associate (Light Builder) who will be responsible for the assembly of our made-to-order light fixtures. We are looking for a hands-on, maker-type individual who can be make a positive contribution to our creative, professional and team-oriented studio culture.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the lighting or manufacturing field (is not required), possess a high level of making ability, and a high level of attention to quality and detail. Woodshop or metal-shop experience is a plus. We are looking for someone with a positive outlook towards work and team members, and a willingness to learn and to adapt on the job.

Duties for this position include all aspects of the Build Phase of our lighting products: careful handling and cleaning of delicate glass and metal parts, basic preparation of those parts, then final assembly and quality control of outgoing fixtures. Candidate must be organized with their time and physical space, as well as build fixtures efficiently, accurately, with consistency and care.

Additionally, this person must work well and collaboratively, within a highly skilled team, in a fast-paced studio environment.  The position is full-time, with a competitive compensation, medical/dental/vision benefits, and paid vacation/sick/holiday days. Work hours are from Mondays-Fridays, from 9am-5:30pm.




+Hand-assemble a variety of light fixtures with attention to top quality standards

+Wiring/assembly of sockets and frames, soldering of electrical parts, to meet testing standards

+Cleaning, handling, minor finishing/fabrication of metal and glass parts and finished hardware

+Regular handling of all lighting parts and completed fixtures in a protective and careful manner

+Efficiently meet order deadlines to ensure all orders are shipped on time.

+Maintain neat organization in work space daily; Assist with studio space upkeep along with others team members

+Document and maintain accurate reports into build books and logs

+Report regularly to Operations Director




+Positive and friendly attitude with a strong work ethic

+Team player willing to learn, improve and adapt to a changing, fast-paced work environment

+Prior work experience in relevant manufacturing field such as light fixture assembly and/or high-end metal fabrication is a plus, but not required

+Must be extremely adept with your hands, with a high level of attention to craft and detail

+Ability to learn how to efficiently and safely handle, move, pack, unpack, load, unload sensitive and valuable light fixtures

+On-the-job creativity, flexibility as well as problem solving skills

+Must be organized, accurate and detail-oriented

+Physically able to lift and handle large and heavy light fixtures, up to 30lbs, on a regular basis

+Wood shop/Metal shop experience is a plus and knowledge of hand tools

+Interest in Art and Design
